Sharpie Sketch

And now for something completely different – for me at any rate. Drew this with a tiny Sharpie pen that I bought the other day. I like the graffiti-ish feel of this one. Note to self: get more chunky markers and bring along to life drawing.

Crocodile Handbag

It’s a shame in way that this is a black and white drawing. This lady was a riot of colour. I’m pretty much certain that she had the entire spectrum covered. Very relaxed and restful she was too. Maybe she was worn out from the energy of her wardrobe.

Clutch

Some people hug their possessions and accessories as if they’re convinced someone is about to rob them. I’m not overly happy with this drawing. The passenger beside the subject spotted me and asked to see the drawing, as she was getting off the train. Not sure if she was disappointed that it wasn’t her but she turned it upside down, then right way up, then upside down again before handing it back and saying. She said, ‘Hmmm’, then hopped off. Then everyone stared at me. Demanding public, I tell you.

Not The Worst Day, As Such (oil pastel, ink and wash)

Not the best either. Had to dig deep for inspiration on this one. This is a drawing that I re-visited, after creating the initial outline in pencil, I inked it and then overlaid the colours and tone with oil pastel before adding a final layer of ink wash and more outlining. The model was a little apathetic or maybe laconic.

Something Between Us

I liked the contrast between the delicate fur lining on her jacket hood and the grimy steelwork and sooty background of the rail tunnel.
