Too many late nights on the books, or maybe the PS3. I’d guess he was about fifteen the pose made him look a lot older. You see kids on the early trains and they’re full of life but not so much in the evenings. Still, if I had to carry a bag of books half my size, I might not be so perky either.

The older man in the background didn’t stir throughout the entire journey. I was tired myself and dozed off not long after sketching this. Wonder if someone drew me?

Some people squirm all the way into a corner in a crowded space. This lady might still be there for all I know. She was practically embedded into the joinery and was leaning so far away from the adjacent person, could have fallen over.

Found myself on the train with nothing but a highlighter to draw with. Takes me back to my days of high-top basketball boots, stonewashed denim and too-bright shirts. Might explain the recent purchase of a Human League album. Must be caught in time-slip.

This is the kind of hair that can receive signals from space. Wiry and radial. Very difficult to read in the drawing online but in my sketchbook, you can see the little doodle of a scissors and a comb in the newspaper.

Winter is upon us and everyone is wrapping up. The proportions are out by a mile and someone blocked the view, so the pattern is incomplete but I like the restful feel of this drawing.

This lady was a very intent reader. Read her newspaper from cover to cover and barely looked up to see where she was – unlike most people who take the train. Didn’t spot the crucifix until the drawing was almost finished.
